Nehal Salah: Valentine À la Palestine!!

Posted: September 23, 2011 in Uncategorized

It is that time of the year again? But this time it’s much more intense. Yes, they have valentine too; everything is red… blood red.

It’s romantic; dark with a few candles here and there, that will soon burn out. Everyone is enjoying the company of their deceased beloved ones. There’s a constant search for the perfect valentine gift; a decent grave and a proper burial.

Please shut your eyes… no, open them until you read the next coming lines.

Imagine yourself standing in a balcony watching your mother walking down the street and suddenly a guy blocks her way and slaps her, then kicks her, spits on her, then gets a cone and bangs her head with it… what would you do?

You’d go in a frenzy , huh? You might end up killing the guy, right? However, you’d get your mother back to enjoy her warm hugs and kind kisses.

Now imagine another guy shooting your father right in front of your own eyes, then shooting your brother who was running to rescue your father, while a huge tank starts ripping through your humble home, and your siblings and cousins are inside. You hear them screaming, and you know they’re still alive. You run for an ambulance; you see it at the end of the street, but you can’t pass because the same tank is blocking the way!! How do you think such a boy would react? Whatever he does we will understand.. WE UNDERSTAND… anything he’ll do is only fair and much less, I believe.

Screams, shrieks, cries, agony, pain; oh… the painful Go ahead… avenge for all the brutal bombings of your memories, of your heart and soul. Avenge for all the humiliation, for your parents, children, relatives and best friends, who have become fresh corpses, or are bleeding to death, or maimed, or, or, or …
